Zero Waste Festival at Airfield Festival of Food

After the summer break, we are back! We will be joining the Airfield’s Festival of Food in the Environmental Zone on Saturday and Sunday, 7th & 8th of September in Dundrum, Dublin 14. You can look forward to artisan food village, zero waste & environmental zone (we will be there!), street food, backwoods cooking, walks & talks, cooking demos & workshops, wellness zone, live music and family fun!

Zero Waste & Environmental Zone

We’ll be a part of the Festival of Food in Airfield Estate, Dundrum, Dublin 14 in September. We will bring our zero waste stand where we’ll chat to you about your journeys, your ups and downs, conundrums and easy wins. We will also bring a swap shop with us so make sure you bring that unloved clothes with you and refresh your wardrobe for the coming autumn season… This is a free event so what are you waiting for? Make your plans to come now!

The festival has sustainability in-mind encouraging visitors to use public transport and reduce plastic consumption. All food vendors will use only compostable or recyclable food containers and festival goers are encouraged to bring their own lunch boxes & reusable cups to help reduce the amount of waste generated from the festival…

Admission

The festival is 100% free all weekend and you can get local, seasonal and sustainable food from the delicious offerings from over 50 producers, showcasing the very best of artisan and locally produced goods.

Open 9.30 am – 5 pm – FREE entry for all and last admission at 4 pm.

Events and Market

Zero Waste Festival Environmental Zone

For all the latest about the Zero Waste themed events and Market in the Environmental Zone check out the Festival of Food website.

Swap Shops

There will be a clothes swap shop at this edition of the Zero Waste Festival, back by popular demand. So, please bring your pre-loved items along, drop them off with our volunteers, and pick up what you need from the Swap Shop.

Pre-loved Clothes Swap Shop

Bring your washed, and wearable clothes, shoes, and accessories to the festival. The Swap Shop will work on an item-by-item basis, i.e., for every item you bring, you will get one token that you can exchange for any other item in the Swap Shop. Since we will re-stock the Swap Shop continuously as people drop off new items, it’s worth checking it out from time to time in between the talks and workshops. All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity shop at the end of the day.

Venue

The Festival is going a little greener this year and encourages you to use public transport to get to Airfield Estate! Festival entry is FREE for those travelling by foot, public transport and by bicycle. There’s limited parking for €5 per car in Airfield Estate on a first come, first served basis.

Airfield DOES DOT have an ATM on site. The closest ATM is located in Balally.
